A bit about me:
I started racing in the backyard with my father using cheap Tandy cars when I was just 5 or so, after a couple
of years - that had grown into a full blown obsession! I started "racing" 1/12th scale in 1977 on an airfield
(Dad was in the Air Force), the rest is history! I collect cars from the golden era of R/C and have amassed
quite a number of them. I have been writing for R/C Car magazine since October 2003 about vintage cars and racing. This is a regular monthly article. I help organize vintage race meetings here in N.S.W Australia. It has become very popular to get the old buggies out for a run! I am a complete R/C Tragic - I fly model Aircraft and Helicopters as well (though not very well!!) I love this hobby! What makes R/C racing so satisfying is not only the friends you make along the way, but helping newcomers understand how things work. I get a lot of satisfaction helping and watching new drivers improve over time. Winning isn't everything. It is about having a good time your friends and fellow competitors, and the way you interact with others that really matters,
racing and winning occasionally is just a bonus.
