Rob Martin
Pittsburgh, PA
My R/C passion started around 1988 with a Tamiya Blackfoot. I played around with several Tamiya kits until I saw the RC10. It was about that time that I also saw a commercial for Hi Tech Hobbies in Irwin, Pennsylvania. I went there to watch and have been hooked ever since.
My first real racecar was a RC10 TQ Edition for those who know what that was and have been racing since 1998. The first track that I actually drove on was a track called East Street Raceway in Verona, Pennsylvania, but like a lot of other tracks in the area it shut down. I raced at a couple of other tracks in the Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania area until I found McCulloughs in 2000. I raced there faithfully week in and week out. In 2006, I took a little break from R/C racing and then started back up again in November 2008. I've always been competitive and played to many sports to list. Racing and being competitive come naturally.
My favorite class is all of them. I'll drive anything that has wheels on it.
When I’m not racing, I work on my mustang and my civic a lot. I do cars shows and stuff like that in the summer.
